2 CHAPTER Now that you have all the basic tools and supplies you need to make pretty much any duct tape craft imaginable, where are you going to put them?  Your workstation can be as elaborate or as simple as you like, so adapt it to fit your needs and take it with you wherever you go! YOUR WORKSTATION 18 Sticky Fingers I n an ideal world, every duct tape crafter would have the dream workstation: room to organize their tape, ample light for cutting and sticking, an abundance of workspace, and an organized bin of embellishments, notions, and tools.

2 Lay the felt flat on the work surface and begin covering it with strips of duct tape, like you did for the tarp-backed duct tape fabric (facing page), but making sure the tape extends beyond the edge of the felt by about 1 inch on all sides. 3 Once you’ve covered one side of the felt entirely with strips of duct tape, take two long strips of tape and stick them along the ragged long edges, leaving about half of the width of the tape overhanging.  You’ll see that two ends will need to be secured with a small strip of extra tape.

HOW MANY STRIPS R emember: The border pieces of tape will add 1 inch to each side of the duct tape fabric. S o, if you want to make a 6-by-8-inch piece of fabric, you’ll need four 8-inch fold-over strips and six 6-inch fold-over strips. TIP!  Push the long edge of this horizontal strip up to meet the edge of the first horizontal strip with no gaps between. 5 Continue weaving horizontal strips in this pat- tern until you reach the end of the hanging strips.  Measure and cut 3 more strips of duct tape to use as the borders on the other three sides of the fabric.
